this weekend was filled with running, swimming, turkey frying, lots of food, teaching peanut to swim at the beach, and the 1st annual Mrs. Guam United States pageant. off the southern tip of Guam is a tiny island called Cocos Island and every year they have a "Cocos Crossing" (2.5 mile swim), so we got up early Sunday morning to watch aaron and our friend, eric, swim.

then that night aaron fried two turkeys and we hosted 45 people here in our house for a fun memorial day weekend get-together. the turkeys were awesome...aaron has been named emeril aaron. it was like thanksgiving with dirty cajun rice, baked beans, potato salad, apple cobbler, homemade ice cream, and like 70 other desserts. then monday morning i got up and ran a 5K with some other navy wives. that afternoon we took peanut to the beach and she swam out with us as we waded into the reef...we had a very proud parent moment. i'm beginning to understand what it's like to be so proud of your "child" at one moment and then turn around and beat her butt for chewing up your watch that was on the table...we're pretty amazed at that one. and then to finish the weekend off, one of my fellow navy wives and friends participated in the Mrs. Guam US pageant, so i attended. it was highly entertaining and she did great (2nd runner up). if you want more info on that i'll have to email...the night ended with me being the designated driver for some other friends....good times. i think.
