Results from my first 45 minutes of hunting on Guam. 130lbs...including 3 rounds of OO buckshot.
I've been learning the Guam way of hunting...here's a few highlights:
-Required equipment:
1) large duffel bag or military 'sea-bag' (so when you shoot something deep in the jungle you don't have to drag it out...simply stuff it in the bag and tote it)
2) very large knife...around here you don't cut the throat...you stab the vital area and cut the heart...it keeps all the blood in the deer and out of your truck
3) lingo: "catching a deer" = bagging a deer, "vaca" = doe, "toro" = buck
4) flip-flops...many local guys hunt/track in sandals...and they shoot many deer
5) safety gear: whistle, compass, flashlight, watch, and blaze orange vest and hat.
- the weird barking sound in the jungle are the deer...yes, the deer bark
- If you ever thought of having a deer or pig as a pet...it's legal here, the best part - the young deer actually are dumb enough to be grabbed...
stand by for more pictures of fun....
PS. Happy Mother's Day!
