...you're in the middle of your swim workout and you must get out because the national anthem is playing.
...when you're driving someone else's car and you get pulled over on base. The base security lady then gives you a "ticket" for not having your lights on but she couldn't seem to give you ANY recollection of the actual rule for what time you're supposed to have on your lights. Please note that it was still light...the rule is ambiguous...the "automatic" day lights were active on the car...and was it mentioned that it was still light? Do you get angry at her for not knowing the rules she is trying to enforce or just let it go and get more "points" racked up on your husband's base driving record?
...when you announce to college students on Sunday evening there is a meeting at 11:00am on Monday and you go into their dorm at 10:55am on Monday and find them sleeping. Do you gently awake them from their slumber or pour water on them?
...when you're at a command function and another woman begins sharing with you how "it's quite obvious what an incredible body your husband has" and she tries to be respectful about it. (If you want to hear the entire sad story, let me know). Do you laugh, agree, or hit her in the face?
...when you get a letter in the mail from the military claiming they can't cover the damages due to mold..."Unfortunately, high humidity in Guam's climate and running air conditioners can cause mildew, this type of incident such as yours does not fit in the unusual occurrence category." Can you tell me when we moved in where we signed that mold could take over most of our furniture and we would be to blame?
We apologize for this frustrating post...we just wanted to share more examples that you can't control most things in life.
