I didn't really forget you were here, but I've had my hands a bit full with my 16 weeker. Yes, he is 16 weeks and spending more time awake so my blogging, emailing, catching up time is becoming more limited. So much for my goal of blogging once a week. But here's to fresh starts.

This month has been super busy with lots of visitors. Five weeks post-op from knee replacement, Papa came to visit us. Aaron went on a cross-country with a student to San Antonio, so we went up, picked up Papa for the weekend, and took advantage of a nice free hotel (Thanks, US Gov't) on the Riverwalk. Too bad the bands were playing so loud that night. I should have taken a picture, but Sam slept in the chair at the hotel with the ottoman propped up so he could squirm out. I'm gonna miss that type of flexibility in his sleeping arrangements.

We ate some BBQ and at Los Barrios (the infamous puff tacos the Schaub's love). Then Papa came back to Corpus with Sam and me for the weekend...it was super cold. We baked bread...played with Sam...sang a little...and had a great time. Papa, we're glad you could come down for a nice getaway.

Then the next weekend, Nathan, Mel, and Noah came down for a visit from Midland. We were busy all weekend with the aquarium, the beach, naptime, photoshoot, making pizza, and doing a little shopping. Whew. I got a glimpse of what having kids aged 22 months and 3 months would be like. It was great to have them here and see Noah experience the beach for the first time.

Then this past weekend Daddi and Mimmi Schaub came in. Because of Ron Schaub's ability to fix anything when it comes to houses, there usually is a project involved. This time it was replacing rotten fascia and installing new lights in the backyard. Now we'll be able to see all the possums and stray cats that hang out. Don't love that part. Maybe the lights will scare them off. Ron and Aaron went to a gun show and sold a gun...and Claudia and I managed to almost spend all Ron made on his gun. Oops. The guys were so busy I didn't get one picture of Sam with Daddi. We'll have to do better next time.

We discovered a FABULOUS book store for kids. If you live in Corpus and haven't been to Rainbow Books inside Gatherings, you gotta go. But take some cash if you do. It's a mama's dream for books...puts Barnes to shame. They also have educational toys...and the farm girl in me couldn't resist the wooden farm set for Sam.

Sam, meet Cooper, your new favorite monkey. Thanks Mimmi.

We'll be home alone this weekend and it will be nice.
