Hafa Adai!
--that is the all purpose welcome, hello, goodbye Chamorro phrase here on the island. (the Chamorro's are the native people). to say it correctly, you say "half a day" like you have an English accent.

a few interesting things we've learned or seen:

our town is pronounced "gee-go" although it's spelled Yigo. the Chamorro language pronounces it's 'y' like a 'g'.

yesterday i was driving and i looked to my side at a stop light and there was a man driving with a large Superman sticker on his door and lo and behold, he had a Superman t-shirt on too.

there are bananas growing near our backyard that we can eat.
if you get in a car accident here on Guam, you better stay in your car on the road even if you block traffic. if you do move to the side of the road, you'll get ticketed for "fleeing the scene."

Peanut only woke up once at midnight and slept all through the night. the count as of 16:42 on tuesday: Peed in the house--2 times; Barfed in our house--1 time; Pooped in someone else's house--1 time. we've got a good record going.
